Meet Dr. Ellenbogen

Dr. Gary Ellenbogen was named as one of the Top Dentists for 2009 by the Consumer Research Council

In 1999, Dr. Ellenbogen merged his Falls Church, Virginia practice (established in 1988) with Dental Associates to form the largest group practice in Northern Virginia. He has been a member of the American Dental Association and the Northern Virginia Dental Society since he began practicing dentistry.

Dr. Ellenbogen has been an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry since 1995. This is where his special interest lies. Dr. Ellenbogen is involved with the "Give Back A Smile" program (sponsored by The American Academy Of Cosmetic Dentistry) which helps to restore the broken teeth of survivors of intimate partner violence at no cost to the survivor. He is also involved in charitable causes called "Knock-Out Abuse Against Women" and "Make A Difference" which helps to assist those people living with cancer. He has taken thousands of hours of continuing education courses in order to keep current with the ever-changing technology in dentistry. Dr. Ellenbogen has studied under internationally renowned cosmetic dentists Dr. William Dickerson, Dr. Ross Nash and Dr. David Hornbrook.

Dr. Ellenbogen maintains a full-time practice dedicated to exceptional cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. His insistence upon using the best labs and materials contributes in creating outstanding results for his patients. The desire for optimum results has also led him to become an Invisalign (invisible braces) provider, which can be used as another modality of treatment in cosmetic dentistry. He relies upon cosmetic imaging with pre and post smile imaging so that his patients will know what to expect even before their teeth have been touched. He believes the foundation of excellent cosmetic dentistry is based upon close communication between the lab, the patient and the doctor.

Dr. Ellenbogen graduated from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Georgetown University Dental School in 1979. He then worked for the Health Department in Newport, Vermont for one year, providing dental services to the underprivileged residents of the area.

Dr. Ellenbogen has been married for 24 years and has two daughters. His interests include golf, horseback riding, and landscape photography.
